KW Black U14 Team Wins Gold at Ontario Water Polo Provincials
Hello Inferno Families,

GOLD 3PEAT!!!

KW Black won GOLD in commanding fashion at the 2014 U14 Provincials by defeating Toronto Jets 10-0, after going undefeated in their division round robin.  With this win they have given our club the honour of being Provincial Champions for 3 consecutive years at the U14 level!  OUTSTANDING!!!
The team dominated their round robin with the exception of a hard fought 7-4 win over the Ottawa Titans Red which arguably could have been the true gold medal match.  All players on this team put forth a tremendous effort throughout the tournament and helped deliver another championship banner.

KW Red competed hard and finished 8 out of the 10 teams competing.  KW Red's highlight was defeating Mavericks Red with an 8-3 victory.  Each of these players gave a full effort and made our club very proud in a  competitive field of teams.  Many of these players are new to the sport or new to the competitive level.  They continue to improve and will bring many wins to the club in the forth coming years!!!

Our TF teams performed really well going W1-T4-L3 aggregately.  This is an impressive record considering how young our teams are amongst the competition.  It was great to see the work ethic of these teams and how far they have developed since September!  KW Inferno's future is very promising with this group of players.

None of this could have been accomplished without the dedication and capabilities of our U14 Head Coach - Glen Keelan.  His tireless efforts has been rewarded with gold after gold after gold medals.  But more importantly, his development of players both individually and as a team while instilling a love of the game has been exceptional.  It is great to see the smiles of the kids in the pool and on deck while they create memories and friendships that will last beyond the pool.  This year, Glen has also mentored a number of youth coaches (Ryan, Brodie, Aleah)  that are giving back to the club they have grown to love and consider their family.  A special thanks should go out to Luis Nova, Marius Palage in their supporting coach roles both during the season and during the provincial championship.

As always, there are far too many highlights to mention in great detail but we should acknowledge a summary of the Game Stars, MVPs and All-stars in the competitive divisions.

The following players were awarded Game Stars as chosen by the opposing coaches in the Round Robin:

Game 2 vs. Mavericks White - Max

Pat yourselves on the back Team Inferno.....this year showcased a record number of teams from Ontario participating in the Provincials - 18 teams came to KW this weekend to compete in 41 games over 29 hours of pool time! This is an amazing accomplishment - thanks to our team of wonderful volunteers, tournament coordinators and coaches! This year we took it up a notch by introducing formal presentations for the medal game, thank largely in part to our in house radio commentator Brock Greenhalgh.  Once again we provided live on-line updates, and many top quality photographs full of memories with the talent of Scott Mueller! And a special thank you to Mike Farwell from 570 News and Kix 106.7 for attending our Gold Medal Game and assisting with the Medal Presentations!

A very sincere thank you again to all the parents and volunteers who assisted this weekend with your donations and time - we could not have run this event without all of your support! This event gets bigger each year and we are so proud to host it and hope to continue to do so with everyone's support! A special thank you to our key on deck volunteers: Mike Archer as the On Deck Director supported by Brock Greenhalgh, Dariusz Wysocki, Calin Dragoiescu, Dan Parent and our many cadet and youth volunteers who stepped up to help!

Good night!
