Andrew Watson Tournament
On
the weekend of November 7-8 the K-W Inferno U18 Girls team competed in the
annual Andrew Watson Tournament in Guelph, Ontario.
Over the weekend the team played in 5 games competing against teams from Ontario as well as a team from Quebec. In the first game on Friday evening, the girls played the home club Guelph team, and came out with a win. It was an early start to the day on Saturday playing at 8 am, but the girls were awake and in an exciting game against DDO that ended in a shoot out the team won the game. In the next two games the team faced Ottawa Titians and Hamilton and came away with victories in both. In the final game the team faced had a re-match against the DDO team. It was another exciting game and again the Inferno girls took the win which resulted in them wining the tournament. It was the first week the girls played with the new 5 on 5 rules and overall they played excellent, implementing and working with the team tactics. Along with the U18 team 3 of the U14 girls joined the team and showed improvement over the games. The team finished the weekend wining all 5 games and the coaches and fans are very proud of the girls play.
