The U14 Boys were divided up into two squads
this past Saturday for a game day at WLU.
The first match of the day pitted the grade 8 Inferno squad against the Mavericks 1 squad from Etobicoke, with the Inferno squad coming out on top with a 13-9 win. The grade 7 Inferno team was in tough against Mavericks 2 in the next game, eventually dropping a 19-4 decision. Next up, the two Mavericks squads squared off against each other in what was one of the closest contest of the day. The Mavericks 2 squad pulled out a 12-11 win.
Then it was time for the two Inferno squads to go head to head. Coach Glen worked his magic with the grade 7s, who eventually lost by just one goal to the grade 8s! The grade 7s were back in the pool for the next match against another strong Mavericks team. The final match of the day had the grade 8 Inferno players taking on the Mavericks 2 team. Our Inferno team fought hard for a 16-5 victory.
Thanks to all of the volunteers who helped out on deck, the parents who came out to cheer on the athletes, the referees who called the games, and of course, the coaches. Next up is the Thompson Cup Tournament in Hamilton this weekend.
