The second Club Game Day of the summer
was held at Harry Class Pool, August 24, 2024.
About 30 Krakens, alumnae, and guests
from other clubs hit the water at 8:45am for intensive scrimmage. For much of
the day two lines of younger athletes alternated with two lines of older
athletes.
At one point, the lifeguards were called into action as the
ball was launched on a trajectory towards the football field and had to be
pulled out of the ivy on top of the wall.
Later, in an innovative move, the boys built an underwater
living ladder and propelled their sharpshooter skywards.
Towards the end of the day, the older girls went
head-to-head with the older boys in a knuckle-biting match.
Meanwhile, the younger squad moved down the pool and
launched balls at the radar gun. Congratulations to the U13 and under boys who
placed:
- Carl D, 47kph
- Cameron H, 46 kph
- Aleksandar D, 44 kph
And to the U13 and under girls who placed:
- Penelope K, 43 kph
- Julia M, 34 kph
- Alina S and Kaya L, 31 kph
Many thanks to the coaches, volunteers, parents, and
athletes for making this day so much fun.
See you next summer!
