16U Girls @ Paul Taylor Memorial Tournament
Our
16U girls, alongside our teammates from Forest City, ventured down the
401 to compete at the
Paul Taylor Memorial Tournament hosted by our
friends at
Mavericks Water Polo.
The weekend started off Friday with a game against Shadow. The girls played hard but Shadow pulled ahead in the third and held us off to win game 1.
Saturday morning we played Capital Wave 1 at 11:00, starting off slow but coming back to tie the game and go to a shootout. Our girls fought hard but ultimately lost by one.
Saturday afternoon, Ontario Water Polo organized a Team Ontario exhibition scrimmage for all the girls who participate in the National Development Centre (NDC) program. Kraken cheered on our two female NDC athletes as they played against each other for the first time!
And Saturday evening our girls matched up against Titans. It was a late game but the girls pulled deep and came up with their first win of the tournament. Excitement levels were high, but that may have been because it was time for some well deserved rest!
Sunday came quickly, and with it came a game against our good friends from Hamilton. The girls were happy to meet their friends in the pool, and came away with their second win, earning them 5th place in the tournament overall.
Great job girls! and special thanks to the coaches for a wonderful weekend!
