Aleah Ciciretto - Nominee at Women of the Year Event
With letters of support from members of the Board, fellow Coaches, players and parents, our very own Aleah Ciciretto was honoured as a nominee in the category of Sports & Recreation at the recent K-W Oktoberfest Rogers Women of the Year event held on October 7.

Aleah Ciciretto has been a member of the KW Water Polo Club since 2011, and has volunteered as a coach and mentor to the young athletes since 2013. She began teaching Learn to Play Water Polo when she was only 13 years old, while maintaining a rigorous practice schedule herself. Aleah continued to volunteer throughout high school and even while attending university in another city, proving herself to be a positive, committed female role model for all of the young athletes she coaches. She is able to form unique and strong relationships with each girl, adjusting her coaching style to best suit each team member. Aleah is an integral part of the KW Water Polo community and her love for the sport and the athletes she coaches is ever-present.

Currently out of the country, in Ireland, as a part of the foreign exchange portion of her university program, Aleah was represented at this sold out event by her very proud mother, Tanya. Along with Tanya were Scott and Mary Mueller doing their best to cheer loudly when Aleah's name and biography were read out to the crowd of over 600 people.

K-W Oktoberfest Rogers Women of the Year recognizes and pays tribute to outstanding women in the community in the following categories: Arts & Culture; Community Service; Entrepreneur; Group Achievement; Health & Wellness; Lifetime Achievement; Professional; Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Math (STEAM); Sports & Recreation; and Young Adult.

You may want to consider whether you know someone deserving of a nomination in coming years. Nominees can be someone who is involved in the community, an inspiration to others, a motivational person, someone who embraces change or demonstrates initiative, someone who recognizes and confirms success in others, or someone who touches people’s lives in a more quiet and compassionate way.

Nominating Aleah was a recognition of the high regard in which she is held by the Club and our community.

Thank you Aleah and best wishes to you over in Ireland.
