Kraken take Silver at Titan’s Cup
The weekend started out with a BANG and the excitement didn’t let up! We were sure there was going to be some excitement, and the 13U group didn’t fail to deliver! They played three Titan teams on Saturday and cleaned house!

In the first game against Titans Red, our defense was on fire the whole game with some exceptional defensive moves by Amanda in the third quarter. Our two goalies were great at blocking and the only two goals scored by the Titan’s were on penalty shots. Kraken came out on top with a final score of 11 – 2 with 4 goals scored by Raphael A, 2 by Gabriel, 2 by Diana, 2 by Eli and 1 by Liam. GO KRAKEN!

The game win wasn’t enough for these players who are really working cohesively as a team, they had to spend the break between games going for an “unofficial” game against each other in the hotel pool! Even that game couldn’t tire them out, and they went on to win their next game against Titan’s Black with an 8 – 6 win.  2 goals were scored by Raphael A, 2 by Gabriel, 2 by Claire and 1 for each Liam and Milo.

There wasn’t anything that could slow the Kraken down for their third game either. Shot after shot was scored by Raphael A, for a total of 5. Another 4 goals were scored by Gabriel, and Liam and Eli each scored 1. Overall, it was a day full of excitement and screams from the parents in the stand. One for the books, unleash the Kraken!!

Sunday was a tough day for the 13U group. It could have been because they were tired, it may have been that the Shadow was a stronger team, or perhaps a combination of both. The kids played their hearts out in the gold medal game but were unsuccessful in taking shots on the net or having possession of the ball long enough to do so. In the fourth quarter, there was 1 successful shot taken by Liam, however, the group still lost to the Shadow 12 – 1.

The kids were able to secure a silver medal and should be very proud of themselves. Great job players and coaches!!
