It was another exciting weekend for 17U NCL women in Etobicoke!
The games begin on Friday afternoon against  the Shadow.  The Titans-Kraken show off their quick passing techniques and made for a speedy game.  Despite some interesting reffing  calls that made for some serious head scratching from the players and fans alike T-K was able to secure victory 24 to 8.

On Saturday Camo came a calling and they showed up ready to win.  Both teams displayed their prowess with the ball.  The game was fast paced with lots of turnovers.  With the fans'  heads  on a swivel we watched the ball go back and forth!   T-K  did some great ball stealing this game and a special shout out to Eva for some great saves with 32 shots on net only letting in 8. But the Titans kraken take it with 19 goals!

In unusual NCL round robin style T-K played Camo again on Sunday morning.  Coach Owen is back in the driver's seat from his forced mini vacation and is ready to lead the team.   As happened last time, T-K was a little slow to wake up and the score was too close for comfort for the fans!  But after our wake up call in the first period we started cooking with gas!   Again the game was fast paced with lots of turnovers.   The stat board showed that all players moved the ball and scored.   Eva stopped 18 balls and shared the net with Alexandra for a period - she made some great stops herself!  Ultimately Titans-Kraken wins with  with an impressive 15 to 5 score!

Sunday afternoon brought the first place game against the Mavericks!   This game could be summed up in three words...post, post, post!   I think we hit every angle but centre!   The T-K just couldn't find their groove in this game and ended up in second place with a score of 13 to 10.

Marty took his place in net for the Capital Wave this weekend.   He saved a good amount of shots and made some good passes up the pool, and the Capital Wave takes 5th place from 7th!   Way to go Marty!

All in all, a mostly great weekend had by all.   The team and the entourage were even  treated to homemade waffles by Titans manager, Jenn!
