This weekend KW Kraken and CAMO 15U Girls players made their debut as a team at the Paul Taylor tournament in Etobicoke.
They started their winning streak on Friday night against Capital Wave 2. Continued with a strong game against Shadow and another victory on Sunday morning against Capital Wave 1.
This led to a spectacular gold medal game. The KW/CAMO team was in the lead until the 4th quarter when we saw Capital Wave catching up and, with a couple of minutes to go, scoring the goal that put them ahead. There were sixty seconds left in the game when the Capital Wave goalie got kicked out. A timeout was called, resulting in a game tying goal from Addie in the last 7 seconds, giving us another chance at victory.
Just minutes later, Claire scored the golden goal that brought KW/CAMO to their final victory.
And so ended a rewarding water polo weekend. We hope this incredible experience will set up our joint KW and CAMO players for a successful season.
