Fund Raising Bingo

The revenues from our bingo sessions dramatically lower our fees to all club members.  It will be mandatory that each member family help at TWO bingo sessions throughout the season.  Further details & sign-up sheets will be available at our registration evening.

We do not anticipate doing any other fundraising during the season. So it is essential that each member participate to make this fundraising commitment a success.

Why:
The monies generated from standard bingo sessions goes to pay for pool time and tournament costs.  This directly reduces the registration costs for each player.  To understand the significance, our treasurer has estimated that the bingo fundraiser will raise approximately $12,000.00 this season which is included in the club’s financial budget that determines the fees charged to each player.

How:
Each 12U family will be asked to sign up for one bingo session and each 14U/16U/18U/Seniors family will be asked to sign up for their two bingo sessions on registration night as part of the registration process.  The bingo captain(s) will provide some basic information on bingo responsibilities and will notify volunteers of their upcoming sessions throughout the year.  In the event you do not sign up on registration night the Bingo Co-ordinator will contact you to ensure you fulfill your volunteer requirement.

Who:
All member parents and/or siblings, 18 years and older, are eligible to volunteer.  The gaming centre does not permit anyone under the age of 18 into the facility.

When:
KW Inferno is responsible for bingo sessions held every fourth Sunday from 8:25 am to 1:00 pm throughout October 1st  to September 30th  of any given year.  This is a year round commitment which will require volunteers during the summer months.

Tasks:

General tasks at the bingo include:

  • Ticket sales at the desk, handling cash, making change
  • Record keeping and cash handling for Rapid Fire Bingo
  • Running the floor to sell single game tickets, calling out bingos, delivering winnings
  • Clean up after the session

Where:
K-W Gaming Centre, 501 Krug Street, Unit #101 Kitchener, Ontario N2B 1L3

Alternative:
Membership participation is key to the success of the bingo fundraiser but the club is sensitive to special circumstances, therefore the Board of Directors have offered an alternative option. In the event a family is unable or unwilling to complete their bingo volunteer requirement, the family can donate $250/Bingo session to the club as a sponsorship in lieu of their participation.

Contact:
Feel free to contact anyone on the Board of Directors or the Bingo Co-ordinator ([email protected]) with questions.
