12U Win Final Game at Titans Cup: 6–7!
1st Game
First game for the 12U Coed was at 8:10 pm Friday at the Nepean Sportsplex.

1st Game
First game for the 12U Coed was at 8:10 pm Friday at the Nepean Sportsplex. The blizzard was in full blast outside as the first ball was tossed to our team, facing off against one of Ottawa’s four teams in this division. Oh boy that pool was big. Coming out of the tournament in London a few weeks ago, 7v7 made this quite an adventure. Great goaltending by Max (ThunderArm) kept the Titans at 3 with the Kraken at 1 at the end of the first quarter. At the end of the half we had them to 6 with holding our 1. At the third quarter we held them at 6 to our 1. The 4th quarter saw the Titans scoring a few more, ending our first game at 11–1. We saw so much hustle and effort from the 12Us today.

2nd Game
Playing the Tornado from Montreal, the first quarter saw some more incredible goaltending from Max. We ended at 3 for the Tornado and the Kraken hungry to score a goal. The second quarter started strong with hungry Kraken 12U ready to strike. The score ended at 8–0. For the second half, Trinity coached the players intently as they switched sides of the huge pool. The first goal for the Kraken got us all excited! The quarter ended at 10–1. Another goal in the 4th quarter brought warmth and excitement as the team was gelling. Some exceptional goal keeping in the quarter kept the score at 13–2.

3rd Game
We got the first goal (congrats Ben)!  And with some awesome goaltending and defense kept Hamilton at O through the first quarter. In the second quarter Hamilton pushed hard and got 5 goals in quick succession, while keeping us at 1. The second half was a good start for the team with another goal and they kept Hamilton at just three more, for an end of quarter score of 8–2. The 4th quarter was a wild ride and a hardworking Kraken team finishing with 2 goals and keeping Hamilton to just 1 more.

4th Game
For the Kraken’s last showing, they were fuelled by the pasta and unlimited garlic bread from Saturday night’s team dinner at East Side Mario’s. The first quarter started off strong against the Shadow, with a great goal delivered by Carl on a penalty shot given to Aoife after a breakaway and losing her cap. We had so many great shots on goal by Ben and Austin, with Astrid and Evan showing awesome hustle. At the end of the first half, after some great saves by Max, the score was 4–2. The second half saw some good coverage and great defense from Eric, Ellis, Charlotte, and Cameron.  We saw another goal from Carl on a penalty shot followed by a breakaway goal by Ben after several awesome breakaway attempts. The first quarter ended with a tie of 4–4. The final quarter saw an amped up crowd and team cheering on our Kraken.  Some great shots, including epic goals by Carl and (two!) by Austin led to a victory by our 12Us of 7–6.

Thanks to the Titans for hosting!
