Last weekend our 15U girls partnered with Forest City Water Polo and brought home bronze at the Ontario Water Polo Provincial Championships.
Starting out the tournament on Friday, the 15U girls teams were split into 2 groups for round robin play. By noon on Saturday we had played 3 round robin games, ending with 2 wins (Titans 2 and Mavericks) and 1 loss (Shadow). In the semi-finals we played the first placed team from the other group, and ultimately succumbed to the girls from Capital Wave 1. This placed us against Titans 1 in the battle for bronze.
And what a battle it was. Titans started out ahead and our girls wrestled their way back, with goals for and against on a regular basis until the last seconds of the game when we tied it up. Cheering squads on both sides were worked into a frenzy during the game. On we went to a shootout where our girls left everything in the pool and secured the bronze medal.
