SILVER IS GOLDEN FOR THE INFERNO!!!!!!!
Both teams went 3W-2L-0T on the weekend only dropping games to the eventual gold medalist.  Outstanding!!!!

The boys team earned their place in the gold medal match by defeating Mavericks Red, Ottawa Titans and DDO.  The gold medal game was an epic battle with Mavericks Black.  We found ourselves down 5-1 at the half.  But our boys dug deep and caught fire scoring 4 consecutive goals to tie the match in the 3rd quarter.  The teams then traded goals leaving the scored tied at 8 with 2 minutes left to play. The Mavericks pulled ahead leaving us with last possession but we could not draw even before the final buzzer.  This was an amazing game from both teams.  In fact, probably the highest level U14 game I have ever had the privilege of watching.  Way to go Boys!!! You did us proud!

The girls team really had their work cut out for them to make the gold medal match given they are a younger team within the U14 group.  They won their first game against Mavericks White and then lost to a favoured Capital Wave team.  With their backs against the wall they had to beat DDO in back to back games to earn their right to play for gold.  In their first match they downed DDO by a two goal margin.  DDO was prepared for the rematch forcing our girls into shoot outs after regulation play.  Our girls did not falter under pressure defeating DDO in the tense shoot out.  The girls gave their all in the final but were out played by the seasoned Capital Wave team.  Amazing Girls!! You out did yourselves this weekend!!!

The medal games were taking in by many parents, family and friends of our players.  The sea of red out cheered our opponents and were treated to some exceptional water polo this weekend!

Individually, we would like to congratulate our team mates for being awarded the following honours:
Matt Wysocki - Most Offensive Player for Championship among all Boy teams
Taylor Thurlow - Most Valuable Goalie for the Championship among all Girl teams
Glen Keelan - Most Valuable Coach for the Championship among all Boy teams

We would like to thank Coach Glen, Coach Ryan and Coach Aleah for their tremendous representation of our teams and club this weekend.  We were the only club with two teams competing for Gold at the Championship which is a huge testament to our leadership!  Congratulations!!!!  Enjoy the VICTORY!
