U14 Provincials Summary
Submitted By Calin Dragoiescu on Tue 04 16, 13
Good evening Team Inferno families.

Wow! This year showcased a record number of teams from Ontario participating in the Provincials - 17 teams came to KW this weekend to compete in 36 games over 24 hours of pool time! This is an amazing accomplishment - thanks to our team of wonderful volunteers, tournament coordinators and coaches! This year we took it up a notch again thanks to team Kotzambasis/Dragoiescu with the technology and photography! We had live on-line updates, a professional P.A. system and many top quality photographs full of memories! And a special thank you to Peter Braid for attending our Gold Medal Game and assisting with the Medal Presentations! We want to congratulate each and every player on a well played 2013 Provincial tournament.

Amidst great competition each of our teams displayed excellent efforts and admirable sportsmanship. A special congratulations to KW Black for winning GOLD at the 2013 Provincial Championships! Back-to-back Gold! Incredible!! It was great to see our players take the coaches for a winning dip in the pool again! Also our U12 team went undefeated in the U12/TF division! What a promising future this group has - they will be a force to reckon with in next years AA division! KW Red worked exceptionally hard in a very challenging division! Although their efforts did not show in the win column they should be very proud of their competitive play. We are amazed by the entire U14 group for both their individual and group success. You all trained hard together this season and helped prepare for this win for our club!

Once again, there are far too many highlights to mention in great detail but, thought a summary of the Game Stars, MVPs and All-stars would be appropriate as not everyone was present at the end of the tournament to hear the announcements.

The following players were awarded Game Stars as chosen by the opposing coaches in the Round Robin:

Game 1 vs. Toronto - Marko
Game 2 vs. Mavericks Black - Darcy & Brodie
Game 6 vs. Mavericks Red - Brodie & Mason
Game 7 vs. Hamilton - StefanGame 8 vs. Capital Wave - Darcy &Mason
Game 12 vs. Titans - Darcy & Claudio
Game 15 vs. London - Tobi

The following KW U14 players were named to the All-Star Team as chosen by OWP and the Tournament Committee:

Brodie Schiller
Darcy Simmons
Mason Archer
Minos Kotzambasis

The Tournament MVP was presented by OWP and the Tournament Committee to Brodie Schiller.

Other notable statistics are as follows:

-KW Inferno had 3 'AA' players in the top 10 goal scorers for the tournament:

Brodie Schiller
Darcy Simmons
Mason Archer

-KW Inferno had 3 U12/TF players in the top 10 goal scorers for the tournament:

A very sincere thank you again to all the parents and volunteers who assisted this weekend with your donations and time - we could not have run this event without all of your support! This event gets bigger each year and we are so proud to host it and hope to continue to do so with everyone's support! We'd also like to thank the coaches again for all their time and dedication to developing our children - all your efforts were certainly evident this weekend!

Good night,
Mike & Tanya Ciciretto
