Potluck Dinner and AGM Wednesday
Don't forget our Spring Social and AGM is this Wednesday, June 7th starting at 6 pm (doors open for set up at 5) at Victoria Park Pavilion.

In case there is any confusion, this is more of a Spring Social event with a bit of AGM business sprinkled in.  We will start with the potluck so that everyone is fed first, then move to 15-20 minutes of official club AGM business, and finish off with our coaches' reports and remarks at the end. Kraken athletes are encouraged to attend and celebrate the season with their families and teammates.

Here is the official itinerary for the AGM:

Notice of Annual General Meeting

Notice is hereby given that the Annual General Meeting of the members of the KW Water Polo Club will be held at the Victoria Park Pavilion, at 80 Schneider Ave, in Kitchener, on June 7th, 2023 from 6-9 pm.

Potluck and Social:

Club business and Coaches' remarks will follow the dinner. There will not be a cash bar this year.

Salads and desserts will be provided by the club. We would ask each family in attendance to offer a main course item for the potluck.

Agenda of Annual General Meeting

6:00 - 6:30 pm: Doors open, social time

6:30 - 7:00 pm: Seating for Potluck dinner

7:00 - 7:15 pm: Meeting called to order

Officer’s reports:

President’s Report

Treasurer’s Report

Bingo Coordinator’s Report

The membership will be asked to approve the financial statements for the year ending August 31, 2022.

Election of Board of Directors

The Board of Directors of the club is each elected to a one-year term at each AGM. The Board consists of a maximum of 10 members. Ex-officio positions are that of the Past President and the Head Coach (as per By-Law). The remaining positions will be decided by a vote of the membership.

Any member wishing to stand for a position on the Board should submit their name to [email protected] so that the ballots for election be prepared for the AGM.

Voting

Voting during the AGM shall be done with a show of hands unless at least 15 voting members request a poll.

This procedure will apply during the election of the Board of Directors if a slate of eligible nominees is presented. If there are more nominees than 12 standing for election, a vote by ballot will occur.

Motions from the membership:

A member may present a motion for approval as an agenda item. It will be declared an agenda item if, by a vote of the membership, ⅔ are found to be in favour of its submission as such.

I look forward to seeing you all in person this Wednesday!
