More Excitement at the U12 Game Day - February 28, 2015 - WLU
KW hosted a very successful U12 game day at WLU Pool on Saturday, February 28th.  There were 8 teams from 6 clubs competing in 16 games over 8 hours.  The round robin with single cross-over provided some very entertaining and competitive games.

KW Inferno entered two co-ed teams for the event.  For the first time this season, the teams were structured in an A-B format allowing the most tenured players to test how they stack up against our provincial competition and for our newer players to test their recently formed skills without the support the soon to be graduating U12 players.

KW Black won all 3 of their round robin matches.  They crossed over to play Mavericks Black for first place and tied through regulation time.  Due to time constraints a shoot out was to determine the outcome.  After the first shoot out series of three shooters the teams were still tied so it went to sudden death and unfortunately Mavericks pulled out the win.  These KW  players definitely proved they will be ready for full-time U14 competition next year. Way to go KW Black!

KW Red went 0-4 on the day however two of the 4 games were quite competitive.  Our KW Red players should be very proud of their results against these older more experienced teams.  There were some great goals scored by our youngest group of players and the individual wins were invaluable regardless of the game outcomes.  The Coach was very pleased how this group played in this event and was impressed with the development of these players since September.  It was great to see some new players step up and help lead this team through the day.  KW Red fought hard and never once  gave up.... it will be exciting to see the future unfold for these upcoming players - KW Inferno is very proud of them all.

A special thanks to Coach Glen and Coach Aleah for all their guidance and support throughout the day.  Thank you to Paulo, Brodie and Ryan for spending their day at  the pool referring the matches and a sincere thank you to all the volunteers who helped set up/pack down, score keep, and provide food and refreshments to our visiting coaches and officials.
