Submitted By Calin Dragoiescu on Wednesday, September 22, 2021
Please see below for a list of requirements for each pool we are practicing at:

Wilfrid Laurier University Pool
  1. All coaches/volunteers/athletes entering must be double-vaccinated.   The only exception is athletes born in 2010 or later, because the vaccine is not yet available to them. People who turn 12 this year are eligible to receive the vaccine now.
  2. All athletes under 18 who are not vaccinated, will not be granted access to WLU and will have to sit out those pool times in our weekly schedule or until their double-vaccination status changes.
  3. Parents and guardians are not permitted entry to the facility.
Waterloo Recreational Centre Pool
  1. All coaches/volunteers/athletes must be double-vaccinated and upon entering an indoor municipal sports and recreation facility will be required to show proof of vaccination on every visit.  Exceptions will be made for those individuals under 18 years of age who are there to participate in an organized sport and those accessing critical services.
  2. Parents and guardians will not be permitted entry to the facility.
  3. From September 22 until October 21 individuals can show proof of vaccination via a paper or electronic copy of their vaccine record.  Beginning October 22, individuals can show proof of vaccine with their Government of Ontario-issued QR code. Individuals can print or download their vaccination receipt from the provincial booking portal.  If as a result of the required proof of vaccination, you and/or your family member no longer wish to participate in a program or activity that you have already paid for, a full refund will be given. Please email [email protected] for further information.

  4. Patrons are encouraged to Check before they Rec before arriving at a municipal recreation facility. Check the municipalities’ and facilities’ webpages you are visiting about entering, exiting, access to dressing rooms, etc. There are differences in each facilities’ protocols, as each facility varies slightly from one facility to another. Where possible, build in extra time to allow for necessary screening and vaccine verification when visiting municipal recreation facilities.

Cameron Heights Collegiate Institute Pool
  1. All participants (coaches/athletes/volunteers) over the age of 18 must show a form of valid ID AND proof of 2nd vaccination prior to being granted entry to the facility.  Valid ID includes driver's license, health card, birth certificate, passport, etc. This procedure must be followed each and every time you enter the building for the immediate future or until the QR code is established by the provincial government. Exceptions will be made for those individuals accessing critical services.  The individuals under 18 years of age who are there to participate in an organized sport are not required to show proof of vaccination.
