16UG play at Forest City Invitational
On February 21, 2025 our 16UG packed up and headed west to play at the Forest City Invitational.
The tournament pitted the combined KW-FC team against Mavericks and Hamilton with 2 games on Saturday and 2 games on Sunday.
Saturday started off with our girls playing Mavericks. Mavs came out strong and were able to stay ahead for the whole game, earning their first win and our first loss. Our second game on Saturday was against Hamilton and it was an exciting game. Scores went back and forth throughout the game, with Hamilton swapping their goalie for an extra player in the last minute to try and tie it up. Our girls were able to hold them off and earn their first win.
Sunday gave us the same match ups. Mavs came out strong again, but our girls rallied back to take the lead at half. Scores went back and forth for both teams during the second half with Mavs eventually getting the winning goal. Sunday afternoon had us playing Hamilton. First period scores volley'd back and forth but then our girls found their rhythm and never looked back, taking a 2nd place finish at the tournament
