U18 Girls Provincials Update
Submitted By Calin Dragoiescu on Thu 04 03, 14
The K-W U18 inferno girls’ team competed in the U18 provincials this past weekend in Hamilton.

The girls had a strong day on Saturday starting off playing Capital Wave. After the team shook off the rust and got into their groove the girls were in control of the game. The result was our first win of the weekend. Later in the day the girls took on the host team Hammer. We were in control from the beginning gaining a strong lead in the first quarter and never letting it go. This strong effort earned the team a spot in the gold medal game. On Sunday morning the girls went on to play York for the final game in the round robin. We knew that York would be the opponent in the gold medal game so we used that game as a learning game and the outcome was our first loss of the weekend. Going into the Gold medal game we knew it was going to be an uphill battle from the beginning. In the end the girls played a hard game and had an excellent weekend coming out with a silver medal.

The next step for the U18 Inferno team is Nationals in Quebec City, on May 8-11th. The coaches are very proud of the team and how they played this past weekend and we are excited to see the team represent the K-W club on the national stage.
