The U18 Girls returned home from the U18 National Club Championships held in Quebec City late Sunday night. This was a first class, competitive experience that will certainly help the players and coaches prepare for the U16 Nationals coming up at the end of the month. The team finished 10th among a field of 14 teams. Although not their optimal result the girls can be proud of their performance as the team consisted of mostly U16s playing in a U18 National event.
The team won 2 games and lost 3 games over the weekend. They lost to DDO1 (Gold medal winners) and Team Manitoba in their divisional round robin. The game versus Team Manitoba was very close tied 7-7 going into the final quarter. Manitoba came out on top in the 4th quarter utilizing their deeper bench throughout the game. In the cross over they defeated CAMO White (7-6) and Hammer (10-2) to play St. Lambert for 9th position. The girls fell 13-4 in this final game exhausted from 4 days of intense water polo.

Inferno’s own, Brodie Schiller also competed at the U18 Nationals as part of the Hammer team. The team finished 9
th overall going 2 and 2 for the Championship. Hammer lost to Mavericks and DDO1 in their divisional round robin and defeated Team Manitoba and Edmonton Tsunami in the cross over games. Brodie performed very well throughout the event and was a key contributor to the team.
