On the weekend
of October 18 and 19 the K-W Inferno Girls competed at a tournament at the
University of Toronto.
The team consisted of the Under 16 and 18 K-W girls as well as some Senior Women who were all Inferno alumni. The girls played against 3 other teams, MacMaster University, The University of Toronto and the Under 19 Golden Horseshoe. In the first game, which was the first game of the season for most of the girls it went very well ending in a 4 -4 tie against MacMaster. The team then went on to play the Golden Horseshoe and in a very exciting back and forth game the Inferno came out with the win. On second day the team started off with an early morning game against the U of T team, and in a close game U of T ended up with the win. In the final game of the weekend the team had a chance to play the Golden Horseshoe again. In another very close back and forth game the girls played excellent as a team and Inferno made a come back to tie the game in the final quarter. Overall, the weekend was a great learning experience for the younger players to have a chance to play and learn from older alumni players. This weekend was an excellent start to the season where the girls had a chance to put the skills they have started working since the beginning of the season into game situations. Overall the coaches were very proud of the young Inferno team who played excellent water polo against teams at the University level. As well the team would like to thank the alumni players who came out to play and work with the inferno girls over the entire weekend.
