Our U14 girls just finished a formidable weekend in Gatineau (Gaa-tee-noo).
All 9 team members delivered a solid effort in round robin play defeating Capital Wave and Ottawa Titans. This advanced them to the semi-final cross-over against the Montreal Machine team. Despite a slow start our team gained momentum throughout the game defeating Machine 15-5. This win earned them a spot in the gold medal game vs their rivals DDO. The first quarter displayed some tight play resulting in a 1-1 tie at the end of the quarter. Our girls broke out in the second quarter with 5 consecutive goals giving them a 6-1 lead at half.
The second half showcased some solid defence by the Inferno holding off DDO to 6-3 score at the final buzzer.
Congratulations girls on an undefeated weekend and a gold medal performance. Thanks to all the traveling families and to Coach Glen and Aleah for all their contributions and leading the team to this victory.
