It was a challenging weekend of water polo for the 14U boys at the Paul Taylor Tournament. They suffered some loses in the first three games, 8-5 against the Maverick Broncos, 13-7 against Shadow and 12-4 against Southwest. These games were a lot closer than the scores dictate.
The boys worked hard and never gave up putting together some incredible plays. They worked through their exhaustion and in the fourth and final game the boys rose out of the depths of the sea, like the
Krakens they are, with a 18-8 win over Titans 2.
This pegged them against Titans 1 on Sunday for the final showdown of their tournament.
It was a close battle for the first 2 quarters until the Boys were down 5-2 coming into the final quarter of the game. This is where we got to see some true grit and determination with a comeback putting our boys down by one and getting a final shot on net in the last 10 seconds of the game. Even though it was a loss the boys and coaches should treat it as a win because that last quarter was dominated by our U14’s. Great work and a good first tournament of the year.
