High School Girls - Gold Medal Finish at Winter Clssic
Submitted By Kyle Devitt on Mon 12 03, 18
This weekend saw some amazing action in the water at the Rec Centre in Waterloo for all Kraken teams! Specifically the HSGs in a smaller pool of teams dominated start to finish.

The first match saw them face a very physical opponent, SouthWest. After a low scoring first half the HSG Krakens gained their bearings against this adversary and completed a solid 7-2 victory.

The next slot on the schedule had the Krakens up against Hamilton. In a swift and decisive display of systems and teamwork, the squad dispatched the Hamiltons 11-3.

The first two wins propelled the HSGs into the Gold Medal Game with a rematch from the morning's rival SouthWest. This time around both teams had a gameplan of how to approach each other. The contest was much closer and every possession was made to count! Luckily the experienced Kraken girls were able to vanquish their opponents and capture Gold with a 6-4 victory.

Much recognition should go out to the parents and families of our Kraken players. This weekend's Winter Classic could not happen and would not be a success with each and every one of your contributions great and small.

Of course kudos and thanks to our Kraken Head Coach Glen Keelan, and his trusted lieutenant Aleah Ciciretto for all their guidance and training thus far this season. It has resulted in an undefeated record in tournament play, 2 Gold medals, and a very promising start to the season's NCL competition!!

Can't wait to see what's in store for these girls the rest of the way this season!!

All game results are posted here.
