12U Win Bronze at Ontario Provincials - June 2
Submitted By Not sure... Kyle maybe? on Thu 06 13, 19
Dateline: June 1 and 2, 2019 - Waterloo, ON

The weekend of June 1st and 2nd, the KW Water Polo Club hosted the 2019, 12U Co-ed Provincial Championships. In attendance, there were 8 teams competing for Gold, Silver and Bronze medals.

Our KW Kraken team had a roster of 15 players, varying in ages from 9 to 12, as well as skills, abilities, and experience with the sport. Under the guidance of coaches Adrian and Dora they all showed everyone their great ambition, and ability by playing incredibly well together, under the pressure and intensity of provincial-level games.

Following a round robin, where our 12U team came second in their group, the hometown KW Kraken advanced to the bronze medal game and managed to defeat their opponents Middlesex, securing their medal!

The raucous crowd of players, parents and coaches were thrilled by the results and can look back with satisfaction at the significant development and improvement our players accomplished this past season.

519 Sports Online was there to capture highlights of the U12 Water Polo Provincial Championship - Ottawa Titans vs K-W Kracken on Saturday  and the U12 Water Polo Bronze Medal Game - Middlesex vs K-W Kraken on Sunday

I would like to thank all parents for their dedication to the sport by bringing their players to practices and tournaments.

A big thank you to coaches Adrian and Dora for developing this team throughout the season. Extra thank you's to our head coach Glen Keelan for mentoring our young coaches through the season, and to coach Matthew Bilicic for coming out and helping this weekend at the provincial championships.
