Our 11U and 13U teams participated in the Forest City Water Polo Club tournament on February 11 and 12. The first ever tournament for the new London club.
The 11U team participated in their second tournament of the year. They did a remarkable job of learning on the spot and taking on new leadership roles. The team learned many new skills during their games. They played some rough games, but never gave up. The whole team came to every game with a smile on their face and played their hardest the whole weekend. They should be extremely proud of their performance this weekend in London. The weekend demonstrated how bright the future of KW Water Polo is.
The 13U Kraken managed to defeat every team except for the Markham Shadow, who, with a well balanced attack and large bench, were a difficult opponent to match. The 13U team lost to them in the round robin, and then in the finals, which earned the team the Silver Medal for the tournament. A highlight of the weekend was defeating the Etobicoke Mavericks team by one goal Sunday morning, which booked our ticket to the gold medal game against Shadow.
A shoutout goes to the 13U boys, who doubled their efforts also playing on the 15U boys team. They played a lot of water polo this weekend and, despite being tired, battled hard against difficult opponents.
Congratulations 11U and 13U Kraken, you did very well!
